“Aye, but I was disappointed I didn’t kill the ogre and instead just got his arm,” I replied. You should be very proud for doing that by yourself,” she said. “I heard that you single-handedly cut off the ogre’s arm and chased him away from the city. We went inside and she looked at the arm in the case. “All right, but make it quick please,” I said. “I work all day and now is the only time I can make it.” “But I can’t come by during the day,” she said. “I’m sorry, ma’am, but I’m closed for the evening,” I said, ready to leave. “Sir, sir,” she said, “please let me look at the ogre’s arm! I’ve heard it's massive.” One night as I was locking up and getting ready to go have some drinks, an old woman approached me. I had saved my reputation and had more respect and love around town than ever before. I placed the arm in a glass case and put it in my shop, and many people came by to see the arm of the monstrous ogre. I grabbed his arm as a trophy from our fight and left. With blood and rain dripping down my forehead, I cursed that ogre which caused me to be out there in the first place. Although I gave chase, I could not catch him nor track him without light.Īs I wearily made my way back through the darkness towards the gate, I tripped over his arm and planted my head right into a rock, giving me this scar. The ogre must have realized that he was outmatched and I would soon kill him due to his missing arm and blood loss so he turned and fled towards the woods. I dodged his blows and left large gashes all over his large frame with my sword. However, that was the last hit he could land on me. The behemoth lumbered towards me, ready to kill me both for a meal and as revenge for his severed arm. Bellowing out in pain, the ogre kicked me hard enough to send me sliding through the mud away from the gate. With years of experience under my belt, I drew my sword and sliced off his arm before he could react. I turned and tried to figure out what it was in the darkness, and at that moment a flash of lightning lit up the area enough for me to see the largest ogre I had ever seen, with arms as large as a tree trunks, red glowing eyes, and standing at least fourteen feet tall. I sensed something approach from the side as I posted the flier outside the gate, followed by that something grabbing my shoulder. The lightning and the rain continued and no ogre had showed itself, so I decided to go post my sign and head somewhere warm and dry and maybe get something hot to eat. I stood guard, staring as best I could into the gloom but saw nothing. To make matters worse, the rain picked up as I walked outside the gate. It was a moonless, stormy night and by the time I arrived at the Brandenburg Gate, all I could see was a yard or two in front of me. I also grabbed some fliers to post saying I stood outside the Gate and the ogre wasn't there. I swung by my shop and grabbed the revolver and sword I normally carried with me on the job just in case I did need them. Since I had killed all of the ogres in the area and this rumor would hurt my name, I decided I better keep up my reputation by proving this to be some made-up story. One night as I was at the tavern I normally frequented, I overheard a someone talking about a single ogre killing more people than the group I killed ever did outside the Brandenburg Gate every night. Once I had killed the ogres, I became a sort of town hero. These ogres were eating the people unfortunate to be outside the city walls at night. Also, people kept building in and spreading to areas previously uninhabited, forcing any of the monsters that couldn’t hide among us far from civilization.Īfter I had settled down in Berlin, I killed a large group of ogres and their chief that lived outside the city’s walls, finishing off the last of any monsters in the area. As time had passed, most monsters had been killed off by my hand or by others of the same trade. When I was no longer a young man but instead a successful hunter with a reputation, I decided to set up shop in Berlin so I could settle down a bit. However, I think I’ll tell you all about this scar on my forehead which goes much deeper than skin. Here are a list of all of the new Hammers added with Sunbreak.I could tell you all about the years following my run-in with that dragon and Ulv's demise, where I fought beasts all around the world and narrowly avoided death with skill and a hefty amount of luck. Although it might have a substantial obstacle to entry, the price of admission is well worth it when one is scourging in the faces of monsters with abandon. This weapon takes focus, positioning, and patience to master. Sunbreak's undisputed king is the Hammer.
